Adventure camp
Wow just came back from camp. Extremely tired.
1st day..
Didnt do much once I reached school. We started off with a lesson on knots and hitches and we had to apply what we learnt into the tent pitching part of the camp. We pitched and striked some 6-men tents twice in the field lol. We played some team building games in the parade square with waterbombs. Wonder whose stupid idea it was to play barefooted.. It would've been less painful throughout the whole camp if we had played that game on the bomb shelter instead. Had topography and first aid lessons.
Had an overnight hike from school to eight other places including Alexander Hospital and Harbourfront. Set off at 1.30am and reached the last stop around 6.00am. There were some patrol cars patrolling as usual. That was when we remembered the curfew that no one under 16 should be out of home after 11pm.The policemen in the first one we saw pointed at us while we were waiting for the traffic lights to change. Too bad they could't stop us because we were on the other side of the road haha.. As we were walking along Alexander Road, a patrol car pulled up by the side and the policemen inside beckoned to us. Luckily we had and officer (Mr Lau) to explain to them. It was expected that that happened anyway. Had breakfast there and went back to school for some sleep (Doesn't sound like the right time to be sleeping haha..).
2nd day
Had to strike the tents we used in sleep in. It was a bad morning. Everyone woke up with only two hours of sleep and most of them had major stomachache and headache haha.. In the afternoon, we had a cooking competition. We had to cook five dishes and a stable food (rice). Ingredients, cooking utenstils and gas cookers were provided and we just had to improvise and cook. It was really fun, until someone choked the sink in the toilet while washing up. It was sooo cool..the water was black from the soot haha.. Just started to pitch a basha when it started to drizzle lightly lol. Fearing it might get heavier, the instructors told them to get into the shelter. Had a lesson on country codes while waiting. After that, we had to continue pitching out bashas. I had to move the position of my basha twice before getting it done because we kept driving our tent pegs into a rock hard ground. Took all the other people the evening but we ate into the night as we struggled to finish mine haha.. Then it was supper. We were all confused as we hadn't eaten dinner yet. thats when the organisers told us that they had little food to give us lol. They gave us us light cakes to eat. It was one of the fun times we had during the camp. Half an hour later, the pizza that we ordered for our dinner arrived. Many people did not favour the type of pizza they got. Each group received a different type of pizza. Everyone started crowding around the group that got hawaiian, fighting for a slice. After dinner/supper/whatever, we went to wash up and went to sleep in our bashas.
3rd day
Had to strike our bashas after breakfast and went for debriefing. It was rather long. As logistics, me and my friend had to stay back after most of them had gone back to keep all the stuff. Luckily there were some who stayed back to help us. As we left school, we headed for JE to have our lunch and went back home after a long day.
Wow..Longest post yet..haha..
