P of US of A

Well, last night was the inauguration of Barack Obama. Really liked the performances by Yo Yo Ma and the singers. They were beautiful.

For many people, this is a day of joy, a new hope and hopefully a better life. For others, maybe not as much. Over here in Singapore, we can only watch it on TV. Whether I'm happy or not I'm not really sure. I'm not involved in these kinda things and I'm not that interested either..apart from Obama messing up his oath.

Many people were discussing who's wrong it was that made Obama stumble. Many say it's the guy who swore him in that made him stumble but I just read something that made me lol hard.. if you know what I mean..

Here's how the Oath was supposed to be taken(with each backslash denoting a pause):

I, [name]/
Do solemnly swear/
That I will faithfully execute/
The office of President of the United States/
And will to the best of my ability/
Preserve, protect and defend/
The Constitution of the United States/
So help me God

but for Obama, it was presented as:

I, [name] do solemnly swear/
That I will execute the office of President to the United States faithfully/
And will to the best of my ability/
Preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States/
So help me God

..Thus confusing him and making him say some parts wrongly etc etc you get da point..

Someone replied to this comment and said
"it was a test to see how Obama can adapt to unforeseen situations and he failed"

Zombo.. just pwnt us all...

He also quoted from his local newspaper saying that this event was an indecent one because everyone is weeping and trying to get over the recent reccession and financial crisis and people are spending millions to celebrate someone who has acomplished nothing.. thus wasting the money..

How true.. Feel free to think otherwise.
